Sweet Gift Card Holder

Here's a sweet little gift card I made for a friend who is recovering from some major surgery. I used the My Creative Time Embossed Gift Card Holder with paper from DCWV's The Playtime Stack. My friend Kim made a super cute pocket card with this stack, which showed me how great it would work for the gift card die! You end up with a pattern for the outside and kraft for the inside! My embossed sentiment is from MCT's More Gift Card Sentiments. Isn't it such a pretty font?

To decorate, I added a strip of pale green cardstock edged with the Martha Stewart Icicles Punch. The flower stamps and dies are from Papertrey Ink. A pretty button on one finished it off.

Monday Madness... Imagine That!

It's another My Creative Time "Monday Madness... Imagine That" design team post! Today Emma has asked us to make a shaped card using our Imagines. I decided to cache a music pattern from the Vintage Papers cartridge to use with the heart shaped card, cut at 4.2", from All Wrapped Up. I used The Paper Company's kraft cardstock to give it a different look. For the little bands, I printed and cut them in red, again using the kraft cardstock. If you have All Wrapped Up, you'll see that I only used the main layer and the little bands. I didn't need the other layers for this project. For the flower, I wanted to use the text pattern from Vintage Papers, but I didn't want it to be the teeny size the Imagine would make it to scale with the flowers. Instead, I cut a 7" square with the text, and then I used that to cut my flower parts at 2.5". The larger petals are the Heart2 cut on page 14 of the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge. For the center of the flower, I printed a 4" square on kraft cardstock, using the same red as before. I then used this to cut Heart1 from page 14, again at 2.5".

Emma asked me to showcase her Classy & Fabulous stamp set today, and I was thrilled to see that the "Cheers!" sentiment fits perfectly into her Teeny Tag Greetings dies. I cut the layers out of scraps from my previous cuts, to make them match the rest of the card. Then I just used a little brad to attach it directly to the card.

Birthday Spinner Card

My nephew turned 6 last week, and I thought it would be fun to make an interactive card for him. I decided to make a spinner card. The quick video below shows it in action.

This is an A2 size card. The brown layer is 4" x 5 1/4". To make the clouds, I printed a pattern from the Cricut Imagine Best Friends cartridge on white cardstock. I then used my Gypsy to make a 3 3/4" x 5" rectangle with a 3.35" x 0.24" rectangle inside of it. I cut this twice, once in the cloud paper, and once in the grass paper, which I edged with the Martha Stewart Icicle Punch.

My adorable sentiment and tag are once again from My Creative Time's Teeny Tag Greetings!

The cute little dog is from the Cricut Nate's ABCs cartridge. He's 2.75", with a 4.18" party hat from Straight From the Nest welded to his head. I cut the ball, also from Nate's ABCs, at 1.25". Get Well Card

A good friend of mine had surgery last week, so I wanted to make a pretty card for her that would brighten her day. This is a 4 1/4" square card. The newspaper layer is 3 3/4" square, and it is stitched to a 4" green square.

To make my flower, I used my Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge. I cut four of Stack2 from page 20 at 3 1/4". On top of that are four Stack2, cut at 1 3/4". The green layer is Sunflwr1 from page 17, cut at 2 1/4".

To make my tag, I used My Creative Time's Teeny Tag Greetings Stamp & Die set. I seriously cannot get enough of these teeny tags!!!

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge

It's the Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop! For this month, we've been asked to post our favorite project of 2011 and then create a new project that was inspired by the first!

My favorite project that I created last year with my Papertrey Ink goodies is this birthday card I made for my mom. I was so excited when Background Basics: Newsprint came out with my mom's birthday (March 10th) built right into it! I also love this card for the bright cheery colors and the fun flowers. You can see more details about it in my original post.

For my new project, I carried over the colors, background stamp and flower theme to create a birthday tag using the Tag Sale #3 Die.

I mixed it up with the flowers this time using felt and real buttons.

I just love this sentiment from Birthday Bash Sentiments, especially how it pops with the white embossing on royal velvet cardstock.

Another Thank You

Here's a thank you card that I hadn't gotten around to posting. My parents gave me money toward a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas, so of course I had to make their card with my new machine. This was an easy card to make, using a cut by Lori Whitlock that I purchased from the Silhouette Online Store. I modified it a little bit, but not much.

I've been getting some questions about what I think of the Cameo. First, let me say that I love my E2 and my Imagine, and I will definitely not be giving them up! The reason I wanted a Cameo was for creating my own designs or being able to take an image such a sports team logo from the internet and turn it into a cut (very important when you have a teenage son). It's also great when I need a particular cut, but don't want to buy an entire cartridge, like with the dragon I used on yesterday's card.

So far, I have to say that the free Silhouette Studio program is easy to use for the basics. I still have a lot to learn in terms of using all of the tools for designing my own projects. I'm also very impressed with how well the Cameo cuts intricate designs. The letters on this card are cut from Papertrey Ink cardstock, which is one of the thickest around, and they cut beautifully. All in all, I'm happy with my new toy and look forward to exploring it some more!

Monday Madness... Imagine That!

Happy Chinese New Year! For My Creative Time's "Monday Madness... Imagine That," Emma asked us to use our Imagines and create something with the colors red, white, and black. How perfect for Chinese New Year! I used the Silhouette Studio software to create my A2 sized card base by welding together a rectangle and the zig zag border that is one of the images that comes with the program. On top of that I layered a piece of gold cardstock cut at 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" and a piece of 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" diamond patterned cardstock that I printed with my Cricut Imagine Black & White cartridge.

I definitely wanted to use a dragon for this card, since it is the year of the dragon. This one is from the Silhouette Studio Online Store. I cut it at 3.365" in both red and black cardstock. I offset them a bit to give a shadow effect. A little bit of gold Stickles made the dragon's eye.

For my sentiment, I heat embossed "Happy New Year" from My Creative Time's Small Talk stamp set with gold embossing powder. I had to do a little masking, as the original sentiment had "Happy" above "New Year."

My Creative Time January Stamp Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the first My Creative Time Blog Hop of 2012! Emma has some awesome stamps and dies releasing today! For my layout today, I am showcasing one of Emma's brand new sport sets: Soccer. Eric played soccer for several years in elementary school, so I was thrilled to have a stamp set that I can use while scrapping those pictures. This is a 12 x 12 layout. I made my polka dot paper by printing a pattern from the Cricut Imagine Black & White cartridge on kraft cardstock from The Paper Company. The rest of my patterned paper is from the Teresa Collins Sports Edition II collection.

I cropped my four action shots, printed them at 2" x 3", and mounted them on scarlet cardstock, which was mounted on black cardstock edged with the ekSuccess Binding Edge punch. I love how it gives it that torn notebook paper effect.

My funny soccer player was cut at 7 1/2" from the Cricut All Sports cartridge (the ball is part of the cut). I made the grass with my Martha Stewart Icicle punch on the green cardstock. I love how I get double duty out of that punch!

This journaling block was part of the Teresa Collins Sports Edition II collection. I stamped "Eat, Sleep, Play" from Soccer and added a button and twine.

For my title, I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut my ticket and layer at 1 1/2". I heat embossed this awesome sentiment from Soccer and mounted the whole thing on a chipboard ticket that came in my Art Philosophy bundle.

My Creative Time January Sneak Peek #4

Tomorrow is the big day! You'll get to see all of the My Creative Time stamps and dies in the January release! Today I just had to share another Bubblegum Treat Box (die being released tomorrow). I think these will be great for little Valentine treats!

To decorate my box, I used the stitched heart die from Emma's 100% Sweetness stamp set. I die cut three hearts and scored them down the middle. I then used my sewing machine to stitch them together, right down the score line. After adhering the bottom heart to my box, I folded up the top two to give it some dimension.

Of course, I had to include another adorable sentiment from Teeny Tag Greetings, another stamp and die set being released tomorrow. My tag layer die came in the mail yesterday. Don't you just love how it looks under the stitched tag?

My Creative Time January Sneak Peek #3

It's another My Creative Time Sneak Peek, and I have something so fun to share with you! Emma has created a brand new die, the Bubblegum Treat Box! How fun is this? You can put all sorts of little goodies in here! For my project today, I made a special box that could be given to a teen who has just gotten his license! The die itself fits perfectly on a 6" x 6" piece of paper. So, you can get four out of a 12" x 12" sheet, or use a piece of patterned paper from a 6" x 6" stack, like I did here.

Since this box is for a new driver, I cut this cute car from the Cricut Groovy Times cartridge at 1". I didn't use all of the layers because it's so tiny. Did you notice Emma's signature stitching? It's on the front and the back of the box!

This sweet tag is made from another new My Creative Time die and stamps, Teeny Tag Greetings. This stamp set has LOTS of perfect little sentiments, along with two dies, the stitched tag and the layer tag. I actually had not yet received my layer tag die when I made this, so I had to hand cut the orange layer. The real die will look much better. I tied the ends of the treat box together with some twine and a couple of buttons.

Here's what the box looks like before it is assembled. There are three little tabs for your adhesive, and once it's stuck together, you just tie the ends!

Spelling Bee Gift Card Holders

It's that time of year again... the school spelling bee! At my school, each class holds a spelling bee, and the winners of those bees participate in the school-wide spelling bee. We give a gift card to a local book store to each of the class champs. Last year I made gift card holder with the Cricut Wild Card cartridge. They turned out cute, but were very time-consuming. This year I was so happy to have my My Creative Time Embossed Gift Card Holder Die! It went so much faster (especially since I had to make 17 of them)!

I cut my gift card base using kraft cardstock from The Paper Company. The black layer is cut at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". I couldn't find any patterned paper in my stash that I liked for this project, but then I remembered my Cricut Imagine Black & White cartridge. This alphabet pattern was perfect! I used the same kraft cardstock to make 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" rectangles. The cute bee is cut from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge at 2 1/2". I "hid" his facial features on my Gypsy so I could stamp a sweet Peachy Keen face.

My Creative Time January Sneak Peek #1

Are you ready for another exciting week of My Creative Time Sneak Peeks? There is so much fun in store for you! Today I'm giving you a peek at an image from one of Emma's brand new sports stamp sets, Soccer. I'm so excited to have this set, since I have lots of soccer pics to scrap from when Eric was little. I also have nieces and nephews who are just starting out their soccer careers, and how fun is it to be able to make cards for them? I thought that this girl soccer player was so cute, so I went ahead and used it to make a card that I can send to one of my nieces in the fall.

This window card can easily be designed in a Gypsy, Cricut Craft Room, Design Studio, etc. I made mine using the Silhouette Studio software, because I like the feature in there that will center shapes within shapes for me. When I made my window inside of the larger rectangle, it centered it for me perfectly! The kraft card base is 4 1/2" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". The black layer is 4" x 5 1/4", and the patterned layer is 3 3/4" x 5". Both of these layers have a rectangle cut out from them that measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/4". I also made the black frame by using that same size rectangle for the interior and a 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" rectangle for the exterior. I adhered all of the layers together, tied a bow around them, and used pop dots to attach them to the card base, for some extra dimension.

Before adding my layers, I used Versamark in to stamp My Creative Time's cool Script Type Background (this will also be released this Friday) on the kraft card base. I then stamped the girl from Soccer on top.

Baby Boy Card

One of my friends just adopted a newborn baby boy, and I couldn't wait to make a card for him and his family to celebrate the good news. The first child they adopted is already a kindergartner, so it's been a long wait to get this sweet baby.

This is an A2 size card with the blue layer cut at 4" x 5 1/4" and the brown polka dot layer cut at 3 3/4" x 5". I used some Recollections Silver Screws brads and some Papertrey Ink Rustic Jute Button Twine to hang my little overalls cut. It's cut at 4" from the Cricut Baby Steps cartridge. My friends have season passes to Disneyland and go there A LOT (in fact they were there on New Year's Day when they got the call that they were matched with him)! Therefore, I just had to add the Mickey head from the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge, cut at 0.61" and covered with Glossy Accents, to the pocket.

I thought this was the perfect sentiment for the occasion. It's from Papertrey Ink's Night Night Moon stamp set, and I stamped it on a shape I cut with their Angled Label Die Collection.

Favorite Stamp of the Month

Today Emma and the My Creative Time design team is showcasing a "Favorite Stamp of the Month": You Had Me at Chocolate. This is definitely a stamp set I love, as you'll be able to see with the many projects I'm sharing in this post. I kept it really simple with the card above. It's just an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of kraft cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".

To make my border, I began with a strip of My Mind's Eye patterned paper, edged with the ekSuccess Bumpy Roads edger punch. I added a strip of red cardstock, and then the "I Love You" strip, cut with my Silhouette out of white textured cardstock. This cut is one of a set of six Valentine borders designed by Lori Whitlock that can be purchased from the Silhouette Online Store. I sized it at 5.5" in width, making the height 0.34". Can you believe how well it cut those teeny letters?

To frame my sweet sentiment from You Had Met at Chocolate, I used the Stitched Heart Die that is included in the My Creative Time 100% Sweetness stamp set.

Button Thank You Note

I bought the Papertrey Ink Button Boutique stamp set last year, and I really should pull it out more often. It's so fun to play with it and the coordinating dies! I cut the button card out of PTI's Pink Patterns patterned paper, using my Cuttlebug. The buttons are cut out of PTI's Spring Moss cardstock and stamped with black ink.

For the little swatches of "fabric," I made one with polka dotted patterned paper from PTI's 2009 Bitty Dot Basics Patterned Paper and the other by stamping the houndstooth pattern from My Creative Time's Build a Banner Kit in gray ink on the Spring Moss cardstock. The rick rack was created with the ekSuccess Zig Zag border punch.

This sentiment from My Creative Time's Home Sewn stamp set was the perfect match!

Birthday Tag with a Sneak!

There's something new and exciting on this tag! Can you spot it? I made this tag using Papertrey Ink's Tag Sale #3 die and some gorgeous My Mind's Eye papers.

This fun pinwheel was made with my Silhouette. It's one of the free images that comes with Silhouette Studio, and I cut it at 2.34". It all went together easily with a Recollections brad. Hint: to keep the nice shape of the pinwheel, I curled each section around a pencil, instead of just bending them over. A toothpick was the perfect stick!

Okay, here's the sneak! I've been wanting a die and stamp set like this for a long time: something elegant and versatile, and tiny enough to work on little projects like this! Emma at My Creative Time has granted my wish!!! Just wait until you see more of this set next week, during our official sneak peek week. All of the new sets will go on sale next Friday, January 20th!

Monday Madness... Imagine That!

Welcome to My Creative Time's "Monday Madness... Imagine That!" Today we are using our Imagines (or patterned paper, for those who don't own Imagines) to create something using the colors red, teal, and chocolate brown. I decided to make a birthday tag to go on my sister-in-law's present.

To make my tag, I started with this image on the Cricut Imagine All Wrapped Up cartridge. It's really cute as it is, but it wasn't in the colors I needed for today. So, I cached patterns from Vintage Papers and Imagine More Cards to use with this All Wrapped Up cut. To see how to do this, you can watch the video below.

For my sentiment, I used MCT's Many Greetings for the "Happy Birthday." I spelled out "BECKY" using letters from the Anyday Bingo & Crossword stamp set. I love the font from this set. It's great to use in the Bingo card or crosswords, but it's also handy to use to spell out words on cards, tags, and scrapbook pages.

I made my flower using the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and added a Papertrey Ink Button and Twine.

Here's a look at the tag on the present. Sometimes just a fancy tag can dress up a plain gift bag! The tag base is made from Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores cardstock, embossed with the Cuttlebug Seeing Spots embossing folder.

I've got another thank you card made with the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge for you today! To make this one I welded together two of the shaped images at 5.44", removing the butterfly that is part of the cut with my Gypsy. Before cutting this card base out of kraft cardstock, I printed the newspaper ad pattern from the Vintage Papers Imagine cartridge onto the kraft cardstock. I then cut the oval frame, again at 5.44" out of purple cardstock.

The pretty watering can and flowers image is from Kate's ABCs, cut at 3.25". I tied a little piece of twine to the handle.

My sentiment, which is heat embossed on the frame, is from the My Creative Time Many Greetings stamp set. I also added some white stitching around the frame to finish off the card.

Here's a fun little shaped thank you card that I made with the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge. I welded together two 5.45" shapes for the card base, using my Gypsy to hide a scroll cut out at the bottom. I cut the shape again and adhered it to the card base to hide the folded side. Next I shrunk that same shape down to 5.06", and cut it in patterned paper.

My espresso cut is from the Love You a Latte Cricut cartridge, and it's cut at 4.18". I ran the top layer through my Cuttlebug. Since all four layers are cut from thick Papertrey Ink cardstock, the cup has some nice dimension.

The adorable sentiment is from My Creative Time's Classy & Fabulous stamp set. I was happy to see it fit in the My Creative Time Stitched Oval Die!

MCT 3-D Wednesday

Welcome to 3-D Wednesday with My Creative Time! Since my project had to be 3-D today, it was the perfect excuse for me to try out the backpack from the Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge. Since I'm showcasing one of Emma's Valentine stamp sets, I thought it would be fun to make a Valentine themed backpack!

I cut everything at 10". Don't you just love all of the details on this cut? The little pockets are so cute!

The front flap of the backpack usually calls for another pocket, but I used My Creative Time's Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies instead. The sentiment and ladybug are from the Classmate Valentines stamp set shown below. This is the perfect set for making Valentines for the kiddoes in your life!

I'm entering this project into the Typecast Creative Valentine Project contest.

Easy Thank You Cards

My class gave me a generous gift card for Christmas, so I needed to make a lot of thank you cards. I came up with two designs that were easy to mass produce. This first one I made for each of the girls in my class. I got a Silhouette for Christmas, and I used it to create my card base. It's a 7" x 4 7/8" rectangle, scored at 3 1/2" (it fits an A1 size envelope). I added the "Thank You" with a font from my computer. The patterned strip is cut at 2" x 4 7/8", and the white is 1 3/4" x 4 7/8". I stamped the cute shopping bags from My Creative Time's Keepin' It Classy stamp set.

I adhered a strip of pink paper on the inside of the card to make the letters stand out when the card is closed.

The card for my boys is an A2 size. I used my Silhouette again to cut the "thank you" from fonts welded together on my computer. They are cut from kraft cardstock and stamped with a Papertrey Ink Woodgrain stamp. When I made my holiday cards, I accidentally die cut too many snowmen, but they found a good home on these cards!

A month has passed, so I can now share the card I had published in the December issue of Cricut Magazine! Do you ever wake up with a card idea in your head? Or is that just a sign of my Cricut addiction? Regardless, that's how I got this idea. It's an A7 size card, which is a size I like to use when making cuts with lots of details. I can use my Kreate-a-Lope to make coordinating envelopes that take regular postage.

I printed the cloud background with the Cricut Imagine Best Friends cartridge. The little houses are cut from the Winter Woodland cartridge at 2 3/4". I just trimmed off the bottom of each one, leaving me with the rooftops.

This sweet hot air balloon is cut at 2 3/4" from the Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge.

Joys of Winter

Christmas snuck up so fast this year (we didn't get out of school until the 22nd) that I didn't have a chance to finish all of my Christmas cards. I didn't quite make it for New Year's either, so I decided to make some winter cards instead. Last night we rented The Help (great movie, and even better book!), and I set myself up with my Cuttlebug in front of the fire. I had a little snowman factory going on with my fun Papertrey Ink stamps and dies!

To make my background, I again used the Stitches & Swirls stamp set. The sweet sentiment is from the On Ice stamp set.

These fun snowmen were made with the Made of Snow Mini stamps and dies. This is a really fun set to play with. Lots of cute accessories!

I think this will be my last post of 2011! I wish you and your families a happy, healthy 2012!!!

I was on my way to bed when I passed by my craft room, where my new Papertrey Ink goodies caught my eye. I couldn't resist playing with them for a bit. I used my new Stitches & Swirls stamp set with white ink on kraft cardstock to create my background. The sentiment is from a surprise set that was included with my December PTI order. Apparently it was sent to some of the first customers that ordered at the December release. A very nice surprise!

The grass was created with the Martha Stewart Icicle Punch. I learned a lesson tonight. Fresh Snow ink turns light blue on Pinefeather cardstock. It doesn't look quite as bad in person, but still a little strange. Oh, well.

I created my tulips using the Flower Fusion #11 die and stamp set. To get the subtle pattern on the flowers, I stamped with Versamark ink.

It's time to start working on those thank you notes! I made this one for my seven-year-old niece, who got me a cute little present for Christmas. Her big gift from Santa was a pretty new bike, so I just had to incorporate that into the card. The bicycle is cut at 7" from the Cricut Just Because Cards cartridge.

To make the balloons, I used the Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags die and stamped one of them with a sentiment from PTI's Tiny Tags II stamp set, before tying them to the bike seat.

I can't tell you how excited I am about today's project. This took me all of five minutes, and I LOVE how it turned out! As you can see in this picture, my crafting area was not too exciting, with just a plain white wall (I can't even paint pretty colors in my craft room, since I'm in a rental).

I've always loved the look of vinyl wall art, and I fell in love with this saying (it's kind of my motto) from EAD Designs. "Do Something Creative Every Day" comes in a variety of colors of vinyl, in three different sizes. I chose black, to match the shelves in my craft room, in the 6" x 18" size. Putting it up was simple! I just had to peel the backing off of the transfer tape and position it where I wanted it on my wall. It just took me a few minutes to rub the areas where the letters are with the included craft stick. I peeled off the transfer tape, and there it was!

In my son Eric's words, "That's sick! It looks like it's painted!" High praise from a 16-year-old! EAD Designs has lots of different precut vinyl wall art, and they also sell sheets of vinyl, in a variety of colors and fun patterns, if you're interested in cutting your own with your Cricut!

Are those of you who celebrate Christmas all ready? I just finished my last little projects, and I thought I would share them with you. One of the presents I got for my son Eric is tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters. It was fun creating a little package to put in his stocking. I printed an image I found online on cardstock and also made some tickets using Papertrey Ink's Just the Ticket stamp set and die to put in the container.

To decorate my little container I used My Creative Time's Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies and Slam Dunk stamp set. I thought it turned out pretty cute!

Eric's main present from my parents and me is the new iPhone. However, his contract doesn't expire until January 2, so we can't get it until then. This is the little IOU card I made for him. Hopefully he'll get the "I" on the phone!

I put my Cricut to good use, decorating more gift bags.

I love making big tags using various images.

Santa Frog Snow Globe

Every year, we have a tradition to check out the crazy holiday lights in my neighborhood with my brother, sister-in-law, and two little nephews. This year we all loved some cute frogs wearing Santa hats in one family's yard, so I had to incorporate this idea into my Christmas card for my brother's family.

I began by welding together two of the blackout version of the snow globe on the Cricut Christmas Cheer cartridge, at 5 1/2".

I adhered the circle layer, cut in patterned paper, and added a little bit of snow that I hand cut from glittered cardstock. The frog is from the Noah's ABC Animals cartridge, cut at 2 1/2". I added a Santa hat cut at 3 1/2" from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. Once the frog was adhered, I added another circle of clear cardstock, using 1/8" Scor-Tape around the edges of the circle. To cover up the Scor-Tape, I went around the edge of the clear cardstock circle with Zig 2 Way Glue, and sprinkled glitter on top.

My sentiment is from My Creative Time's All Around Christmas stamp set, and I heat embossed it with gold filigree embossing powder.

My roofing tin wall hangings for my coworkers are all finished and packaged up to give away tomorrow. I wrapped them in tissue and put them in small kraft gift bags that I had ordered from Oriental Trading Company.

To decorate the plain bags, I used hot glue to attach bows to the jingle bell ornaments.

For the rosettes, I used the Cricut Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. I used my Gypsy to weld three of the main images and then hid the scoring marks (I prefer not to have them showing). It took two of these welded sections to make each rosette. I hot glued the rosettes to scalloped circles cut with My Creative Time's Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies. This held the rosettes together, and allowed me a spot to add a cute sentiment from MCT's All Around Christmas stamp set.

On the back of the rosette, I used MCT's Classmate Valentines stamp set for the "To" and "From".

For my coworkers that don't celebrate Christmas, I went with more of a winter theme.

For my project today, I made some quick and easy 3 1/4" cards. These are great to have on hand, and the EAD Designs Holiday Cubes Vinyl made them a snap to make! The set comes with 6 rub-on images that are actually designed to fit on 2 1/2" wooden cubes. However, I discovered that they work great for mini cards too! I used the Winter style, but they have them for many occasions!

These two cards are made with 3 1/4" x 6 1/2" blue cardstock, scored at 3 1/4". My patterned paper base is cut at a 3" square and stamped with the border and sentiments from My Creative Time's Small Talk stamp set. The snowman and snowflake are the EAD Designs rub-ons, in brown.

This card is the same size as the others, but I used a 3" brown square under a 2 3/4" patterned square. The "Let it Snow" sentiment is another rub-on, from the same set. I made coordinating envelopes with my Walk in My Garden Cricut cartridge, sizing them at 3 1/4".

Nutcracker Cupcake Ensemble

My seven-year-old niece Mary is performing in the Nutcracker, and I'm going to see her performance today. I had a lot of fun making a little gift for her. I love how once you've built up a collection of Cricut cartridges, you can pretty much find anything you need for any occasion! I'm submitting this in the Cricut Circle December Monthly Challenge, in which we were asked to make some personalized holiday gift wrapping!

My parents saw the performance the other night, and my mom sent me a picture of Mary in her little cupcake costume. Using my Gypsy, it was easy to recreate the costume with a girl from Everyday Paper Dolls. I didn't bother saving the size and cartridge details for my card, as I'm sure there aren't many of you that need to create this particular card!

The cupcake box is cut at 9" from the Cricut Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge. I just followed the instructions in the handbook and added a little ribbon around it.

Inside the cupcake box is an ornament I made for Mary as a keepsake of her Nutcracker experience. I got this idea from my friend Liz, of Liz's Paper Loft, who has an awesome video tutorial on making this type of ornament. It's really not hard to do, and now I want to make more! I used a clear glass ornament from Michael's. Inside is a 2 1/2" circle cut from clear cardstock that has a 2 1/4" cupcake on it cut from the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge. I added some fake snow and some ribbon. To make the tag, I printed "Nutcracker 2011" on my computer, and then die cut it with the Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banner die. After stamping the polka dots from Papertrey Ink's Ribbon Tails stamp set, I tied it to the ornament.

The ornament is so pretty in person, but I just don't have enough daylight right now to get a good picture. Time to head off to the performance!

A Little Bird-Day Card

I hadn't used my Cricut 3 Birds on Parade cartridge for a while, so I just had to pull it out for this birthday card. The cute little bird is cut at 3", and I ran his hat through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

For the base of the card, I cut the scalloped circle card cut from Art Philosophy at 4 1/4". On top of that I adhered a patterned scalloped circle, cut at the same size. The pink border is another layer, and I added some white stitching to that.

My sentiment on the inside of the card is from the My Creative Time Many Greetings stamp set.

Before I start today, I want to thank all of you for the wonderful comments you left on my blog during the My Creative Time 12 Days of Christmas! I enjoyed reading each and every one of them. I have the best followers!!!

Today I am excited to share the baby card that I had published in the November issue of Cricut Magazine. This was my first publication, so it was a big thrill! And to make it even more fun, my friend Liz was published in it too! You'll have to visit her blog, Liz's Paper Loft, to get a peek at her gorgeous project.

I used the crib from the Cricut Baby Steps cartridge, cut at 3 3/4".

The adorable overalls, also from Baby Steps, were cut at 2 3/4".

This little teddy bear is cut at 2 1/4" from the Christmas Solutions cartridge.

I stamped this cute curvy sentiment from My Creative Time's All Star Baby stamp set on cardstock and then trimmed around it to make a banner. The star that it's tucked under is cut at 6 1/2" from Baby Steps and embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

After the many Christmas projects I've made lately, I really enjoyed creating a different type of card with some bright colors! My card today was created with a 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of turquoise cardstock, scored at 4 1/4". This size will fit into an A2 size envelope. The black layer is a 4" square, and the striped layer is a 3 3/4" square. The pretty topnote shape with the cutout is from the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge, cut at 3.35". The turqoise shadow is cut at 3.55".

MCT 12 Days of Christmas - Day 12

It's our last day of the My Creative Time "12 Days of Christmas"! It's been a lot of fun, and I hope you've been as inspired as I have with all of the projects that have been shared by Emma and the rest of the design team! For my project today, I made sour cream containers filled with some treats for my students. These are very easy to make and just perfect for when you need to mass produce. If you've never made these or seen them made, you can watch my video below.

To make 20 of these, I only needed 5 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock. Not bad!

To decorate each one, I used Emma's Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies, along with her Build a Banner Kit for the "To/From" tag. The sentiments and images on the stitched circles are all from All Around Christmas, and the "To" and "From" are from Classmate Valentines. I love that Emma has included To/From on several of her stamp sets, each in a different size and style. There is one for every project!

There is even a perfect sentiment for my students who don't celebrate Christmas.

MCT 12 Days of Christmas - Day 11

Welcome to the second to last day of the My Creative Time "12 Days of Christmas"! I can't believe it's almost over, but all of the projects I've made are making me feel pretty ready for Christmas at this point! The other day I watched a One Charming Party video on My Craft Channel, in which they were making Sugar Cookie Truffles. They looked really yummy, and I couldn't wait to give them a try! These are a spin on cake pops, but you mix crumbled sugar cookies with a little bit of cream cheese for the center. I used the recipe that I found here. I actually found these easier to make than cake pops. For mine, I used homemade sugar cookies, but you can use store-bought ones (that have no sprinkles or frosting on them) or the refrigerated dough as well.

Since I wanted to share some of these with some special crafty friends, I made a couple of gift boxes using the Cricut Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge. I cut the box and lid at 6 3/4" and adhered a 3 3/4" square of clear cardstock to the inside of the lid.

To make my tag, I used Emma's Curly Label Die and stamped the coordinating frame from Inspiring Words {Accents} stamp set. The sentiments are from Emma's All Around Christmas stamp set. I punched a small hole in the tag and tied it, along with a jingle bell, to the twine wrapped around the box.

This was a really quick gift card holder, since I was running out of time when I made it. But I love how anything you make with Emma's Embossed Gift Card Holder comes out looking so professional! The paper I used was single sided, so I distressed the white side with brown ink to give it a different look. "Merry Christmas" is from Emma's Gift Card Sentiments stamp set. Since the gift card inside was for Hobby Lobby, I just had to add this sentiment from Paper Princess, stamped onto an oval made with Emma's Stitched Oval Die.

MCT 12 Days of Christmas - Day 10

Welcome to the My Creative Time "12 Days of Christmas"! Wow! We are already up to Day 10! I hope you have been enjoying all of the great inspiration from Emma and the rest of the design team. So, as you can see on my blog, I've been making lots of different Christmas cards. This is great, except that I usually like to send photo cards out to friends and family whom we don't see often. They love to see new pictures of Eric, and I think they'll really like to see how he is towering over me this year! Today I thought of a solution: I made some pockets for photo tags to put INSIDE of my cards!

Remember this card, from Day 5? If not, you can click here for details. I'm going to show you what I just did to the inside of it.

First I found some thin patterned paper that coordinated with the card but wouldn't add too much bulk.

I cut a piece at 5 1/4" x 4" for the writing area of the card and stamped a sentiment from Emma's Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.

To make my pocket, I took the blackout of a 7 1/2" tag pocket cut from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge and hid all of the score marks on my Gypsy. I also slid most of the back part of the pocket off of the screen of my Gypsy so that it would not cut. I really only wanted the front of the pocket, the sides, and 1/4" of the back, so that my pocket would not add to much bulk to my card. If you don't have a Gypsy, you can make the whole pocket cut, and then just trim off most of the back. Before scoring the pocket, I inked the edges, stamped a cute Christmas tree from Emma's All Around Christmas stamp set, and colored it with Copics. I then adhered the three folded flaps of the pocket to my card with scor tape.

The tag is cut at 3 3/4" on blackout, also from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. This was the perfect size for my 2" x 3" photo. I used my Crop-a-Dile to add a hole and an eyelet, and then added some twine that can be used to pull the tag from the pocket.

MCT 12 Days of Christmas - Day 9

Welcome to the My Creative Time "12 Days of Christmas"! You are in for a lot of fun for these twelve days - daily projects by Emma and the design team, along with some fabulous prizes celebrating Emma's one year anniversary! Today's card is a 6" square card. The scarlet layer is a 5 3/4" square, and the black patterned paper is 5 1/2" square. Across the middle, I adhered a 5 1/2" x 2 3/4" piece of scarlet cardstock with a 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of music patterned paper on top of that.

These adorable trees are from the new Cricut Circle exclusive cartridge, Paper Trimmings. Before cutting them out at 4 3/4" and 4 1/2" (I flipped one), I used my Gypsy to hide a cut out at the top of each tree. This left room for some Peachy Keen faces. I also used Liquid Pearls to add a little decoration.

My sentiment is from Emma's Mixed Holiday Sentiments stamp set and is stamped on a banner cut from her Build a Banner Kit. I thought it was the perfect match for my dancing trees!

EAD Color Challenge!

Welcome to the EAD Color Challenge! I am so excited to be guest designing for EAD Designs and joining in the fun today! For this month's color challenge, we are using lime green, turquoise, and berry!

For my project today, I made a fun lollipop holder to give as a little Secret Santa gift. The adorable snowman sticker is from the EAD Christmas Stamps Stickerz, shown at the bottom of this post. I love that I can make a ton of projects with one sheet of stickerz!

To make the holder, I used the My Creative Time Stitched Lollipop Holder die.

I decorated the front with popped up layers. The turquoise scallop and the lime green stitched circle were cut with MCT's Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies. I stuck the cute snowman sticker to white cardstock and trimmed around the edges so that he was sturdy enough to pop up too! The sentiment tag is from MCT's Build a Banner Kit, and the sentiment itself is from MCT's Mixed Holiday Sentiments.

To close the lollipop holder, I pulled some crinkle ribbon through the holes and tied a bow. I also stamped "To" and "From" from MCT's Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.
