Hello, and welcome to our "5" Days of Christmas! This week we will be sharing lots of Christmas ideas, such as cards, layouts, home decor, 3D items, and whatever else comes to mind that will let YOU get your juices flowing for the holiday! There will be a giveaway each day, and the winner will be announced the following day! You will see the different prizes each day on Emma's blog HERE! I hope we all inspire you this week!
For my project today, I made a book shaped gift card holder. I found a tutorial for it on the Stampin Nerd blog, and I thought it was just the cutest thing ever! It was very easy and fun to make. I used part of a cereal box to make my chipboard covers, covering them with paper from Echo Park's Season's Greetings 6x6 paper pack that was inked up with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink. The paper for the for the spine and the box inside is Papertrey Ink's Pure Poppy, which makes it nice and sturdy.
To decorate the front, I cut an ornament using MCT's Warm Holiday Fun dies, a stitched circle and sunburst shape from Build a Banner Kit, and a little tag from Teeny Tag Dies. The tree and round sentiment on the stitched circle are from Postcard Add-Ons, and the sentiment on the tag is from Teeny Tag Greetings. I added a bookmark that has a little Studio Calico Wood Veneer Snowflake, plus a pretty brad on the teeny tag from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas.
The box inside is perfect to hold a gift card! I made a little journaling card for writing a Christmas wish that is the same size as the gift card, 2 1/8" x 3 3/8". I stamped it with the binder paper stamps from Get Schooled and added a sentiment from Teeny Tag Holidays. The cute little tree was cut with a die from All Around Holidays. I cut an extra layer out of a PTI coaster to give it a bit more dimension.
