Heat Embossing for Resist

Click here for the MCT July Stamp Release Blog Hop!

I tried another new technique I learned from Summer Card Camp 2 for this card... heat embossing for resist.  I used watercolor paper and stamped the different parts of the flowers from Papertrey Ink's Funky Florals stamp set.  After it was all stamped, I used the back of the largest image of each flower to stamp a complete circle of Versamark on top of each.  I then heat embossed clear embossing powder on them.  Using the back of the stamps was the only way to get full coverage.

Then I used my Tim Holtz water brush and some Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores Ink Refiller to add some light color around the flowers.  The clear embossing resisted the watercolor, preventing it from bleeding onto the flowers.

After adding the sentiment from this same stamp set, I adhered the watercolor paper to a Hawaiian Shores card base, along with a strip of dark chocolate paper edged with the ekSuccess Bumpy Road Edger Punch.

Projects used on this card (except for Funky Florals, which was a rewards stamp set):
