Chalkboard Element with Video Tutorial

Welcome to another "Scrapping the Little Things" with My Creative Time!  Today I have a fun beach themed Project Life layout for you, using lots of my favorite MCT products, and I even made a video showing how I put it together and how I made my fun chalkboard speech bubbles!  It's been about 9 months since my last video, so I thought it was about time, LOL!

I used the Stitched Journal Die to make my 3 x 4 cards, except for the cloud one.  That was because my Project Life pocket page is defective, and a true 3x4 card does not fit in that pocket.  So I just used my paper cutter for that one, and cut it a bit more narrow out of white cardstock and then stamped it with the gorgeous Cartoon Cloud Background Stamp.  I cut my sand out of some cork paper and used the Stitched Umbrella Die to make my cute beach umbrella.  All of the patterned papers I used are from the Simple Stories I {HEART} Summer 6x6 pack.  For the card on the right, I made banners using dies from Chocolate Greetings, Vintage Stitched Label Dies, and Just Simply Live, attaching them with brads from the I {HEART} Summer collection.  The sentiment is from This & That.  I made the cute "Awesome" speech bubble with a Stitched Square Speech Bubble and stamped it with a sentiment from Things I Love.

The sentiment in this speech bubble is from Have Fun in the Sun.  I used another Stitched Square Speech Bubble and numbers from the Stitched 4x6 Journal Die for the date, and then I wrote out the name of our beach using the Label Font and black embossing powder.  I love how it looks like old fashioned label tape!  The card on the right is super simple - I loved that piece of patterned paper, so I just cut it with the Stitched Journal Die.  So easy!!!

Here's a close up look at one of the speech bubbles!  You can watch the video below to see how to make them.

Thanks so much for sharing. I always admire your work. I just decided to make the change over to Project Life. I have hesitated because mine will not be weekly. Right now I am doing regular scrapbooking and a smash book and I don't like things being in two places. I like that I can add my full page spreads and still document the little things in one place. I just ordered MCT 3 X4 and 4 X 6 inch dies along with some new release stamps to get started.

Katie, Awesome job on your page and video. I like how you showed how you planned your page and even changed things. Now your umbrella matches your toes :D Good thing your umbrella blew away as fun stories add so much to the memories of the pages. We also have a Silver Beach in Michigan. Super job.
