Welcome to another 3-D Wednesday with My Creative Time! Tomorrow is Emma's birthday, so we all have created birthday themed projects in her honor! Be sure to stop by her blog to give her some birthday love and to check out more fun 3-D projects created by her and the rest of the design team.
For my project today, I created a little mailbox full of treats. I used the mailbox from the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 Cricut cartridge, cutting it at 8 1/2". For those of you who have wondered about the using the scoring on this cartridge with your Gypsy, I followed some tips that I found on the Cricut messageboard (sorry, I can't remember who posted them).
I first put the mailbox cut on the Gypsy. Then, I added another layer and put the scoring lines there. By zooming in, I could see just where to drag the scoring lines so that they lined up perfectly on the main cut. I then sent the scoring lines to cut on my Expression, setting the blade and pressure to 1 (I don't have a scoring blade, but this worked). When it finished, I returned to the design (not unloading the mat), and went back to my first layer. I changed the blade and pressure back to my normal cutting settings and sent that to cut. It came out perfectly!
I stamped a sweet birthday message from My Creative Time's Wow! So Many Candles stamp set on the mailbox flag.
To decorate some yummy Nuggets, I cut strips of Papertrey ink cardstock at 1" x 3" and stamped them with MCT's Spring Chicken Backgrounds and the stitching from Gift Card Sentiments, using the coordinating PTI ink colors. I used a little strip of Scor-tape on one end of the strip to stick it together around the candy.
