First Time with Glitter!!!

I'm not usually into the messier side of crafting, but for some reason I had the urge to try using glitter the other day.  It actually wasn't as messy as I feared, and I love the results!  This is an A2 sized card, and my image is cut from the Cricut Sophie cartridge at 3 1/2".  To glitter my bird, I covered it with my Zig 2 Way glue and some Martha Stewart glitter.

For my sentiment strip, I put 1/8" Scor-Tape on the top and the bottom of the front and the back of a 3/4" x 4 1/2" strip of vellum.  After adhering the strip to my card, I sprinkled glitter on top of the Scor-Tape on the front of the strip.  My next step didn't work out so well.  I stamped my sentiment directly on the vellum, but apparently I did not use the right kind of ink, and it smeared.  I was bummed, but there was no way I was giving up now, after all of my work.  So I just cut a strip of turquoise paper that matched my bird, stamped my sentiment on there, and adhered it down the center of the vellum strip.  I actually think I like this look better!  The final touch was a button that I made with Smokey Shadow cardstock and my Papertrey Ink Button Die.  I covered it with Gossy Accents to give it a more realistic look.

Recipe:

Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow & Hawaiian Shores Cardstock
Echo Park "Splash" Patterned Paper
Papertrey Ink Vellum
Papertrey Ink "Big & Bold Wishes" Stamp Set
Papertrey Ink True Black Ink
Scor-Tape
Zig 2 Way Glue
Martha Stewart Crafts Fine Glitter
Papertrey Ink "Buttoned Up #1 Die"
Glossy Accents

Yea! you finally came over to the messy side of the table!!! hehe I think your card is soooo PRETTY! I haven't been able to play with that cart yet...also I think stazon ink would have worked on vellum, but I love the way you covered it and none of would have known! :)
