PTI Make it Monday Challenge

For this week's Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge, Nichole Heady made a video tutorial of her "Polaroid 2-Step Masking" technique. I used this technique on my star. I began by cutting a 4" star from A Child's Year on kraft cardstock. I then used my Gypsy to embed a 2 1/2" star within a 4" star and cut them out on thin paper. I used repositional adhesive to first cover the inside and sponge white ink around the outside, and then to cover the outside and stamp fireworks on the inside. If I'm totally confusing you, watch Nichole's video.

My fireworks are actually flowers from the PTI Botanical Silhouettes Stamp Set. To make my card background, I stamped a pattern from A Little Argyle in blue and then added red stars from Daily Designs.

My sentiment is from My Creative Time's My Little Firecracker stamp set. I heat embossed it, cut the paper into a banner shape, and adhered it to my kraft base with some brads.

Love this card. The background you created on the paper looks great & so customized! You did such a good job it looks like the paper came designed that way. I love the technique with the center star. The twine ties it all together nicely. Wonderful job!!!

I love the dandelion heads as fireworks - I think that's brilliant! And I love the star-shaped masking to "frame" it! Lovely!!!!
