Ladybug Thank Yous

Here are the thank you notes that I made for the girls in my class. The cute ladybug is from Just Because Cards, cut at 2 1/2", with the Real Dial Size on. I tried to use up some scraps of patterned paper on this card. The card is A1 size, so it was easy to find scraps that fit it. The card base is cut at 4 7/8" x 7", scored at 3 1/2". The mat is cut at 4 5/8" x 3 1/4". Hare are a few more of the designs:

Craft Room Makeover

Wow, it's been an exciting week! First a blog makeover, and now a craft room makeover. My office has quickly become overcome with crafting products since I started this little hobby a year and a half ago. It was to the point that things were really crammed together, and I had no room to grow. So I used my Christmas money to get this Ikea Expedit shelving. I love it! As you can see on the bottom shelf, scrapbooks fit into it perfectly. The khaki bins are from Target (Itso Fabric Bins). I couldn't believe how perfectly the large one fit!

While at Ikea, I also picked up these cute little jars for buttons and two different types of magazine holders for my paper. The black CD cases in the picture above are also from Ikea. They're holding all of my stamps.

Here are a couple of pictures of the whole room. The bookcase is directly across from my computer. It's so nice to be organized!

Gift Box from Imagine More Cards

I was so excited yesterday to receive the Imagine More Cards cartridge that I won on eBay! I haven't seen too many projects out there with this cartridge, but it has so many cute things on it! There are all sorts of cards that you can print, cut, layer, and put together easily, or you can use the different elements in other ways. There are also some cute bags, boxes, gift card holders, etc. I had to make this cute little box as soon as I saw it. I love how it has each section in a different pattern, but it's just one cut! I cut the box with the "Fit to Page" feature. To get an idea of its size, the tag is cut at 2 1/2". I cut the tag in layers, and then added a felt flower with a button sewed on top. So easy and cute!

The presents have been exchanged, and now it's time to get working on thank you notes! I decided to make this first batch be combination New Year's/Thank You notes. I made 8 of these to send to the boys in my class. My students gave me gift cards to my favorite restaurant and Papertrey Ink! Aren't I lucky? This cute porcupine is cut at 3" from Birthday Bash.

Thanks for all of your nice comments on my kindergarten mini book. My niece (and especially my sister) loved it! I used to pick a winner of the My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies stamp set, and this is who won:

Kindergarten Mini Album & a Giveaway

This is my second post today. To see my Craft Junkie Too Design Team Project, click here.

I am so excited! I just finished making my kindergarten mini album. This is a Christmas present for my niece, who is loving her first year of school! I originally started this project for the Your Story Blog Hop that I was part of a few weeks ago, but I soon discovered that this would be way too thick for that. So, I ordered myself a Cinch. I love it! It is so easy, and works great!

Here are all of the pictures of the inside. I used so many different Cricut cartridges and papers that I gave up trying to keep track of them all. Let me know if you're wondering where I got anything.

I also want to thank all of you for visiting my little blog and leaving your kind comments. To celebrate the holidays and the beginning of winter, I have a giveaway for you: My Pink Stamper's Winter Punnies Stamp Set! You will love using these awesome stamps for all of your winter projects. To enter, just leave a comment and make sure you're a follower by Christmas, and I'll use to pick a winner on the 26th. Enjoy the holidays!

Wobble Gift Card Holder

This is my last project for the Craft Junkie Too Design Team. It's been a blast working with Tracy and the rest of the team! The theme today is Christmas, so I made this gift card holder for my 16 year old nephew. I thought this Santa bird was kind of cute, but kind of creepy, so Will will love it! The best part is that he is mounted on an Action Wobble, and once he starts wobbling, his google eyes spin in circles!

The gift card holder and envelope are both from Wild Card, cut at 4 1/4". Creations with Christina has a great video tutorial on these cuts, in which she figured out the sizes to cut the patterned paper layers.

The crazy Santa bird on the envelope is cut at 2 3/4" from 3 Birds on Parade.

Altered Canvas

My brother and his family recently bought a new house, so I thought this idea I found on the Cricut messageboard would be perfect for my nieces' Christmas presents: altered canvases for them to hang on their doors. I started with an 8" x 10" canvas from Michael's and then used Mod Podge to adhere everything down and use as a sealant over the top layer. This is my first completed one, and I should have the second one up in the next day or two.

"Jada" is cut from Birthday Bash, and the butterflies are from Walk in My Garden. Everything is cut at 2".

BIG Christmas Tags

Last year my best friend, who lives across the country from me, asked me to make Santa tags for her. I'm surprising her with some for this year. The tags are cut from Cricut Classic Font at 5". All of the other cuts are from Jolly Holidays, cut at 3 1/2".

Lots of Cards!

This is the second year that I've made sets of cards to give as gifts for Christmas. I made 5 sets, with 5 cards in each for some coworkers. It was much easier to do this year, since I started my blog. I was able to just look through it for some favorite cards that weren't too elaborate and then mass produce.

I put the cards in clear plastic boxes (I think I bought them from, but it's been a while), wrapped some patterned paper and textured cardstock around them, and added some Prima flowers and rhinestone brads.

Click on the card name below if you'd like details for making any of these.

For the thank you card with the birds and trees, I scraplifted from Nichole Heady. Check out her blog for tons of great ideas for using your Papertrey Ink products!

Wobbling Penguin Card

Here's a fun card that I made for my niece, who is currently obsessed with penguins. The penguin is attached to the card with an Action Wobble, so she can make him wobble like a bobble head! Very fun!

I used the "print and cut" feature on my Imagine with the Snow Angel cartridge for the patterned paper and the icicles. I made the snowflake paper by cutting a 4" square with rounded corners, and then trimmed it to 4" x 3 3/4". The icicles were cut from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art Cricut cartridge at 1.5", flood filled with Snow Angel colors.

Because I wanted a stiff cardstock for my penguin to be able to wobble easily, I used the "cut only" feature on my Imagine and cut him on Papertrey Ink cardstock. The penguin is cut at 3" from Create a Critter, and his Santa hat is cut at 6" from Paper Doll Dress Up. I cut the hat once in red and once in white to create the layers.

The white base of the card is 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2", and the red layer is 4" x 5 1/4". I used my Corner Chomper on all of the corners.

Pillow Box for Christmas Tags

Once I'd finished up my collection of tags to give away, I needed something to put them in. I made these pillow boxes using the new Wrap It Up cartridge. I just used my Gypsy to make a size that would accommodate my largest tag, and I also hid some shapes that would have been cut out of the box. I used some cardstock to make a "ribbon" around each box, added a tag, and was good to go!

Christmas Tag #5

Here are the last in my sets of tags to give away this year. I think these cuties are my favorite! The tag is again from Cricut Classic Font cut at 3 3/4" with a shadow. The little gingerbread people are cut at 2 1/2" from Jolly Holidays. I didn't cut out the button layer, substituting real buttons instead.

Christmas Tag #4 and a Winner!

Thanks so much joining the Your Story Photo Hop on Saturday! I really appreciate all of your nice comments and I'm excited to get to know my new followers! I used a random number generator to pick the winner of the Imaginisce birthday goodies, and the winner is:

"Your little album is just as cute as can be! I have the original Your Story but I think I'd use the smaller one more often. I'm putting it on my wish list! Thanks for a chance to win blog candy. This hop is great!" - Anne (lucyblueeyz at yahoo dot com)

Congrats, Anne! I'll be sending you an email to get your mailing address to get those right out to you. And now, today's project...

Here is another tag that I made for the ladies in my family. For this one, I used a tag from the Cricut Classic Font cartridge, cut at 3 1/2" and decorated the tree with gems using my iRock.

Your Story Photo Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Your Story Photo Blog Hop! If you don't have a Your Story yet, be sure to watch "YourStory Photo" on HSN, Dec. 13th, at 2 AM EST to learn more.

I ordered my Your Story Photo during the HSN launch last month, and it is so much fun and easy to use! It only take a couple of minutes to bind a book! I made my first project with it, a Holiday Planner, earlier this week. Today I'm sharing a fun journal that I put together for a fifth grader who has been helping me out in my classroom during recess. She is very girly, so I think this will be a perfect little Christmas gift for her.

I used one of the 5" x 7" covers that came in my Your Story Photo bundle. The black layer is 5" x 6 3/4", and the patterned paper is 4 3/4" x 6 1/2". I cut the name at 2" from Feeling Groovy, welding together the shadowed letters on my Gypsy. Using Create a Critter, I cut the cat at 2.5" and the pillow at 1.35".

For the inside of the journal, I cut about 20 sheets of 5" x 6 7/8" lavender cardstock, from a paper pack from Joann's. I was sure to score the paper at 1/4" before binding it, so the pages open more easily (I missed this small print in the Your Story directions when making my first book).

Quick and Easy Imagine Tags

For this week's project for Creative Critterz Imaginations, I have a couple of quick and easy tags that you can make on your Imagine in no time at all. These two tags were cut at 4" from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge. I flood filled each tag with a pattern from the Imagine Snow Angel cartridge. I then chose the solid colors that come with that cartridge to flood fill the shadow and the scalloped circle (cut at 2.2") that is one of the Imagine stock images.

The cute circular pictures are actually from ornament cuts from Snow Angel. To make these, I selected "layers" when I chose my ornaments, but then deleted each layer except for the circles, which I cut at 1.8" true size. I inked everything up and then used pop dots on the scalloped circles. Both sentiments are from My Pink Stamper stamp sets. I stamped the one on the right on a ticket, as it was hard to get it to show up on the busy pattern. The ticket is the only paper on the tags that is not printed on the Imagine.

Holiday Planner

Today I'm sharing my project for Craft Junkie Too's Design Team. This week we were asked to share Christmas organization tips. Since I find myself with all sorts of lists stuffed into my purse at this time of year (gifts to buy, cards to send, thank you notes to write), I decided to make myself a little holiday planer. I used my new Your Story Photo and a 4" x 6" green book cover that came with it.

For the cover, I cut brown cardstock at 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" and layered it with a patterned paper cut at 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". The topnote is cut from Accent Essentials. I played around with my Gypsy to make a shadow. The white layer is 4.09" x 2.65", and the brown layer is 4.42" x 3.01". I also used some felt with a Papertrey Ink Die to accent my circle.

For the inside of my book, I make some lined pages by creating a template in Word and then running white cardstock through my printer and cutting it down to 4" x 6" sheets.

I made three sections for my planner: Cards, Gifts, and Thank Yous. For each one, I made a divider sheet with a 4" x 6" piece of brown cardstock, layered with a 3 3/4" x 5 3/4" piece of patterned paper. All of the elves are cut from Jolly Holidays at 3.5". The "cards" was made by welding together 1.88" letters from Gyspy Font.
