Watermelon Thank You

A sweet little girl in my class brought me a different kind of fruit every day last week for Teacher Appreciation Week!  I loved it! On Friday she brought me a whole watermelon, so I just had to include a "slice" on her thank you card.

For my background, I embossed hexagons using my Papertrey Ink Hexagon Cover Plate.  These cover plates are really fun because you can use them to die cut or emboss.  Since I chose to emboss it this time, I just stamped on some of the hexagon designs from the coordinating Happy Hexagons stamp set.

This cute slice of watermelon was cut at 5" with the Cricut Just Because Cards cartridge.  See that strip of green chevrons running behind it?  I cut that from a piece of patterned paper in Echo Park's A Perfect Summer 6 x 6 paper pad.  You can pick up that cute pack at Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.

For my sentiment, I die cut banners with My Creative Time's Vintage Stitched Label Dies and stamped sentiments from MCT's So Grateful for You stamp set.  Perfect for the sweet little girl who will receive this!

MCT 3-D Wednesday!

It's another 3-D Wednesday with My Creative Time, and today I've got a fun little watering can for you.  I have it up on my mantle as a spring/summer decoration, but you could fill it with treats too.  The cut file is from SVGCuts' Mother's Garden SVG Kit.  I cut it with my Cameo at the size it came in using Pink Paislee's Hometown Summer papers.  One little change I made was to add stitching to the band that goes around the middle before adhering it down.

To embellish my watering can, I made some cute felt flowers using My Creative Time's Flower Petal Dies, Stitched Leaves Dies, and Stitched Button Dies.  These dies work great on Papertrey Ink felt, using my Vagabond.  You can even see the stitching on the felt!  I stitched the buttons to the flowers with some embroidery floss and then adhered the leaves and flowers to the can with my glue gun.

Flowerpot Card

This was a fun card to make for my mom for Mother's Day, but it can really be used for any occasion!  I used Lori Whitlock's Card Kit Flowerpot, which I purchased from the Silhouette Online Store.

The cut comes with the flowers and the little scalloped circles that go in the center of them.  I added leaves made with My Creative Time's Stitched Leaves Dies.  I cut the flowers with papers from my scraps and popped them up with dimensional adhesive.  Some cute little Fancy Pants buttons and thin hemp from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique finished them off!

I used more of my green hemp to tie a tag to the flowerpot.  The tag was die cut using MCT's Chunky Jar Accessories and stamped with a sentiment from that same set.

When my mom pulls the flowers up out of the flowerpot, a cute sentiment from MCT's Mom You ROCK stamp set will be revealed!
