MCT Inspiration Wednesday

It's Inspiration Wednesday with My Creative Time!  Today I have a fun folding card inspired by this one made by Kristina Werner.  As soon as I saw hers I thought it would be fun to make using My Creative Time dies.  The stitching on the outside of Emma's dies is perfect for this card!

On the front panel, I figured out where I wanted the windows for my birthday sentiment and my two speech bubbles, and I ran the card through my Vagabond with the corresponding dies (one of the Square Stitched Goody Dies and a couple of the Fun Speech Bubbles).  I then adhered the cute phone made with a die from Best Bots Forever and some stars made with dies from 4x4 Journal Die + More.

To make the whole card, I started with a 5" x 10 1/2" piece of white cardstock and scored it at 3 1/2" and 7".  This gave me three 5" x 3 1/2" panels.  To give it one extra panel, I took another piece of white cardstock that was 5" x 7" and scored it at 3 1/2", creating two panels.  I took one panel of each of these two pieces and overlapped them and adhered them, creating the one, four paneled card.

When you open up the card, you see the sentiments that show through the windows, plus a few more that I added.  All of the speech bubbles are from Fun Speech Bubbles.  The ticket is from Fun Tickets, and the birthday stamp is from It's All About You.

I added canyon clay cardstock to the third panel and patterned paper from Simple Stories Awesome collection to the fourth panel, both cut at 4 3/4" x 3 1/4".  Lastly, I made a gift card pocket out of vellum using the Tag Gift Card Pocket Die.  All tied up like a present, I think this makes a fun little gift for my brother-in-law!

Cupcakes Card w/ Video!

I thought these cupcakes on the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge would look really cute welded to a card base, so that the card itself would take on the cupcake shape.  I was able to do this easily in Cricut Design Space (see video below).  Once I cut out all of the pieces, I adhered it together, using some dimensional adhesive for the chocolate frosting.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Floral Sentiments.

Beary Thanks

The latest My Creative Time release arrived at my doorstep over winter break, just in time for me to use for my thank you notes for my students.  I used the new Bear Dies to make a bunch of these cards.  I die cut the bear, stamped the coordinating bear stamp from Beary Special Thoughts and colored it with copic markers.  For the sentiment, I used "Thank you" from Once Upon a Time and then I masked off part of a sentiment from I Love You Beary Much for the the "beary much" part of it.  This was a good way to use up some of my washi tape too!

MCT Tag It Tuesday

It's Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!  Lately I've been pulling out the Stitched Message Bubble Dies and the Fun Speech Bubbles, and I thought they would pair perfectly with the adorable little telephone die from Best Bots Forever!

I thought it would be fun to have the little dies be inlaid, so I cut my striped tag first, using the Tag Die Layers, and cut the telephone and the back layers of the speech bubbles (from Fun Speech Bubbles) out of that striped layer.  After adhering the striped layer to the larger white tag, cut from Tag Dies, I was able to put all of my little speech bubbles and the telephone into the openings, just like a little puzzle.  I like how this method left me with some stitching around the outside of the speech bubbles!
