MCT April Release Sneak Peek #3

It's day 3 of My Creative Time's April Sneak Peeks, and today I'm sharing a sympathy card made using the new Stitched Pretty Flowers & Leaves Dies!  I just love these dies!  They are so versatile!

I made an A2 size cream card base and used my Silhouette to cut a rectangle the same size as the window in the frame of the Just Simply Live die.  I then cut that Just Simply Live Frame twice, once for the inside of the card, and once for the outside.

The Stitched Pretty Flowers & Leaves Dies actually comes with even more dies than the ones I used here!  All of the flowers dies have stitching on the negative as well, so there are many uses for them.  The sentiment, which I stamped on the inside of the card, is from the older MCT set, Many Greetings.

MCT April Sneak Peek #2

Are you ready for another day of My Creative Time sneak peeks?  There are two new sets being showcased today, and I'm sneaking the new Way to Go set!  You will just love this set:  an adorable bike with so many fun layers, plus lots of coordinating sentiments!  For my card today I created a scene using a tree from the Cricut Just Because Cards cartridge, cut at 12.3".  I stamped the foliage with the soccer ball from the MCT Soccer stamp set and embossed the trunk with Papertrey Ink's Woodgrain Impression Plate.  The grass was made with MCT's Stitched Grass Die.

Isn't this bike from Way to Go just the cutest thing ever???  I decided to put flowers in the basket, but there are dies for other options as well.  To make the books on the bike rack, I cut the bike rack out of four colors and then just trimmed off the bottom part and cut off the edges to make various "sizes" of books.

The sentiment is made up of two stamps from the set.  There are lots of mix and match options.  I made the sun with the MCT Build a Banner Kit.

MCT April Sneak Peek #1

Are you ready for a fun week of sneak peaks of an awesome new My Creative Time release?  There are so many great sets this month!  Okay, let's get started!  For my first project today, I made a card using the new Build a Pretty Flower stamp set.  I started with an A2 size white card base.  Then, to get a red layer that would match my flowers, I took a piece of kraft cardstock and inked the edges of it with Hero Arts Red Royal ink, the darker shade that I used in the flowers.  The next layer of the card is a stripe from Simple Stories SN@P Color Vibe.  I cut the kraft layer at 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" and stamped a sentiment from the older MCT set, Floral Sentiments.

Build a Pretty Flower is filled with all sorts of stamps that have layers to give your flowers dimension.  I decided to stamp the main layer of my flowers first with Hero Arts Pale Tomato Ink and then added the next layer with Red Royal Ink.  For the outline layer and the stems, I thought it would be fun to heat emboss them with white embossing powder.  I then colored in the leaves and the center of the flowers with Copic markers.

Now, for this tag, I used the other set we are sneaking today, called Pretty Spring Wreaths.  To make this tag, I first took some water color paper and painted it using some old Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores and Simply Charteuse re-inkers.  Then I used one of the dies from from MCT's Tag Dies to cut my tag.  Pretty Spring Wreaths comes with three different wreath bases, and then there are lots of different flowers and other embellishments that you can use with them.  I stamped my base with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink and then added some flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Picked Raspberry, and Seedless Preserves.  The sentiments are also from this stamp set.
